Quality Assessment
Outstanding, rated consistently around 92-94 points by major critics. Represents one of the most compelling and unique volcanic white values in Spain.
Production Methods
Hand-harvested from ancient, pie franco (ungrafted) vines. Fermented with indigenous yeasts in old wood and concrete, with minimal intervention.
Terroir
Volcanic soils rich in basalt and ash, located at high altitudes in the Valle de la Orotava under the influence of Atlantic trade winds.
History & Heritage
Founded in 2006 by the de la Rosa family, Suertes del Marqués revived historic vineyards in Tenerife and has become a benchmark for authentic Canary Islands winemaking.
Interesting Facts
The vines are trained using the traditional 'Cordón Trenzado' (braided cordon) system unique to the Valle de la Orotava, some of which are over 150 years old and survived phylloxera.
Cellaring Potential
Delicious in its youth for its primary fruit and volcanic energy, but capable of aging gracefully for 5 to 10 years.
